Recurring Learning Opportunities at South Church
Weekly Bible Study
Meets from September through May at 10:00 AM on every Tuesday. This ongoing group led is always open to newcomers. There is no preparation needed before class.
Monthly Book Group
On the 4th Monday of every month, there is a book group that meets at 7:15 PM. The selection for the month is always announced ahead of time in the monthly Newsletter.
Women’s Retreat
Each year, the women of South Church spend a weekend away on retreat, connecting with each other in new ways and rejuvenating our sense of self. It is open to all women-identifying friends and members of South Church.
Laila’s Syrian Lunches
Subscribe to and read our Newsletter to find out when Laila’s next delicious lunch will be held! Laila is the mother of the Syrian family that South Church has sponsored in their settlement and living in the U.S., she is an amazing cook and blesses our church with her food quite often!
Past Learning Opportunities at South Church
Muslim Coalition Panel Series
South Church hosted the local Muslim Coalition for a series of panels with a range of topics. Discussion themes included “Women and Islam,” “What is Islam,” and many more. The panel series provided a space for learning and discussion, and hope of eradication of the fear of the unknown that causes so much hate in our world today.
Lenten Soup Series
A three-week soup and film series during the Lenten Season. Usually held on Monday nights from 6:00-7:30 PM. Participants sign up to take turns bringing soup, bread, fruits and / or desserts to share. A movie or clips of one are shown over the course of the three weeks, and each clip is discussed in a round-table style.
